        Beer of the Month

With spring on the way out and the mountain country clubs opening, I bring forth a beer recommendation for warmer weather. Sierra Nevada Summerfest pours with half a finger thick head, white in color. Quickly settles to thin lacing around the edge of the glass that is semi-sticky.  It’s Crystal Clear body brings a dry grainy aroma with the earthy pungency often found in a pilsener. Subtle hints of fruit - lemon and grapefruit. I find as it hits my taste buds it moves Slowly  from beginning to end and brings some complexity to the palate. Malty upfront with underlying nutty tones. Then moves to a more pronounce nuttiness with some dry grain. Then the sweet and nutty flavors fall out and leave a dry taste to finish and linger in the aftertaste along with hints of citrus sour. With time the malt hangs on the palate a bit longer.
